WE PLEDGED OUR SUPPORT FOR THE PLAY SAFE WEEKEND 2023
Saturday 30th Sept/Sunday 1st October
English football is set to unite again over the above weekend to promote Play Safe – a countrywide campaign to focus attention of the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game.
Led by The Football Association, the Play Safe campaign is endorsed by the NSPCC and will be supported this weekend across every level of English football, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship, and across the grassroots game.
This season we
are asking EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE – clubs and leagues at every level of the game,
(and individuals if they wish) – to tell us what they are planning to do to
make a difference over the Play Safe weekend and to share this via an
online Play Safe Pledge.
This year’s Play Safe weekend focuses on the safeguarding role EVERYONE has to play – coach, player, parent/carer, spectator or volunteer – to keep children and young people safe, no matter what the football setting. EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, EVERYTIME is encouraged to WATCH, LISTEN, TALK and ACT if they have any safeguarding concerns.
These messages are reflected in the visuals on this page, which are examples of the various digital and print resources being distributed to every County FA, league and club in England. Captain’s armbands will be worn at various levels of the game over the weekend. Head coaches/managers are also being asked to wear Play Safe pin badges to show their support.
It’s all part of
football in England uniting to create an ever-safer culture across the game at
every level.
FA 'Silent Support Weekends'
TJFL will participate in Silent Support weekends again during this season as directed by The FA. However, we ask all parents attending matches to adhere to the guidelines at ALL our fixtures.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A REFEREE?
Following on from our successful League meeting last week, we discussed certain issues surrounding the availability of Referee's and the need to recruit more to assist in the current season and looking ahead to next season 2023/24.
I am pleased to advise you that our Referee's Secretary's are looking to arrange another local course as soon as possible and need your assistance in sending out the link to your Manager's and anyone you are aware is interested in attending a local Referee course.
It is important that our Referee Secretary's get an idea of numbers so the below link takes the applicant to an online form that the applicant can complete and this will assist in collating numbers of those those applying and allow us to liaise with County FA to arrange the course.
Please note that this is a register of interest form and NOT a course application. Details for the new course will be forwarded to all those submitting the below form when a date is known.
Any problems with the form link please contact Dan Hancocks on <danrhancocks@gmail.com>
